Inez was a beloved mentor, a lifeline in my high school days, and beyond. Her compassion, honesty and unconditional support and the impact she had on my journey will always be treasured. Even today I feel her loss. Rest in peace, Inez. Namaste.

Ms. Starr always made me feel like there was no wrong or right in my interpretation and expression. She never criticized, second-guessed or squashed my process or manner of going about things. She was all about the journey of self-discovery - nourishing it and gently guiding one along the way. She had a way of actively engaging my teenage mind so as to make me feel worthy as not only an artist in my own right but as a person, too. She spoke to me as if we were peers, which always meant a lot to me. I'm a career-switcher now, switching to a career in middle school education. She is my inspiration in this process. If I could be just 50% of what she was to me I will consider myself lucky. She is a part my past, my today, and my tomorrow. She will be missed!

Ms. Starr was a great mentor. She believed in my abilities as an artist even when I doubted myself. She was a true motivator and loving caring person. When I felt like nothing was right in my life I could always find a safe haven in the art room and comfort from all of the activity there. Ms. Starr was an excellent artist and instructor. I will never forget her!

Inez was an artist, educator, mentor and friend. She was my very dear friend whose memory I will always carry in my heart.
