Arville Blankenship Obituary

HAMPTON - Arville Franklin Blankenship, 61, of Hampton, died Monday, Nov. 11, 2002. He was the former owner of Tidewater Electronics and enjoyed a second career prior to retirement with Com Car as a truck driver. Mr. Blankenship was a member of the First Church of God, Newport News, and a past member of Virginia Electronics Association. He is survived by his wife, Jane, with whom he shared 42 wonderful years; three children, Joy Blankenship and her companion, Harold Wible, Sherry Barnes and her husband, Ryan, and John C. Blankenship and his wife, Angela; a brother, Alvin Blankenship and his wife, Bonnie; and two grandsons, John C. Blankenship Jr. and Justin Blankenship. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, at Riverside Funeral Home. A visitation with family and friends will follow the service. Memorial donations may be made to First Church of God, 617 Randolph Road, Newport News, VA 23601. Riverside Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
