Sterling Bingham, 84, of Houston, formerly of Bryan, passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2014 in Houston. Funeral Services are set for 2PM Saturday, October 4, in the Hillcrest Baptist Church in Bryan. Reverend Craig Yates will officiate and burial will follow in the Fort Sam Houston Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas on Wednesday October 8 at 1:30PM. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services on Saturday, October 4 in the Church.
Born August 13, 1930 in Lou, Texas, he was the son of Samuel Grant Bingham and Lenora Julina (Hackworth). At Raymondville High School he received the American Legion Award. While stationed in Japan he was named Airman of the Month and later named a Colonel in the Commemorative Air Force. He loved flying and greatly enjoyed teaching Sunday School, as well as teaching at San Jacinto Junior College. Sterling was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
His parents, eight brothers and five sisters precede him in death.
Sterling leaves behind to cherish his memories, his wife of 62 years Dolly J. (Eubanks) Bingham; a son, Mark W. Bingham and his wife Heather; two daughters, Audrey J. Burge and Wanda E. Jennings and husband Scott; a sister Pearl (Bingham) Billings and her husband James; 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hillcrest Baptist Church or Hospice Brazos Valley in his name.

I am sorry for your loss of Mr. Sterling Bingham. No doubt many hearts ache for you at this time. And though no words can take away your sorrow, may the assurance that God cares give you the strength you need from day to day...
