After moving to Denton and spending time raising her children, she would later resume her career as an executive secretary with Victor, Selwyn, Brown and Sharpe, FEMA and UNT, until she retired from Moore Business Forms in 1991.

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Shirley she was a beautiful woman both spiritually and physically and I loved her dearly. I was Shirley's hairstylist for many years and she became one of best friends throughout those years and we shared many stories about our families you would think we knew each others family well the way we talked so proudly of them together. I will miss Shirley and will keep the family in my thoughts and prayers in the weeks ahead.

Shirley and I met when we both worked at UNT. She was a good friend and neighbor and helped me tremendously when I lost my son, Greg. She always had a smile and was always upbeat regardless of what circumstances she was going through. I will miss her terribly.
