My dearest friend, Mentor, Teacher, Collegue, Christlike Example, and fellow disciple. I am broken hearted that I did not take the time to spend with you in 2007 when I discovered my own cancer and saw you at the Doctor's office.
I will forever regret having been so selfishly worried about my own condition and blinded by the needs if my Brother.
You taught me to Dream, to ponder to go beyond what is the art of fads and look into the metaphysical meaning behind the investigation of all things spiritual through my Art pursuits .
I missed your passing, a year ago, but this morning I was overcome with the desire to repeat the few German words that you taught me. KUNST lead me to seek out your where abouts... I am deeply saddened by your passing, and wish I could have spent I mouth our with you. I pray for your family and your forgiveness at my shallow inept attempts to absorb as much from you as I could. Thank you for the hours in intensive Studio classes, and the amazing talent you shared freely. You will live on in my work for however long I have on this earth, but I know you have found answers to so many question you were researching. Of all the Teachers in my life that have influenced me yours was the most life changing, spiritual, and thought provoking. I believe you were one of the great thinkers of history, beyond the visual Arts and into the metaphysical nature of the eternities. I wish I could have shaken your hand and embraced your great mind, one more time. Until we meet on the other side, as we surely will, REST IN PEACE, for a season, then back to your eternal studio.
My eternal love for my dear friend, his family & fellow protgs. Love Davd Frank Jorgensen Sr.

It is with great sadness that I learn of Hagen's death...as one of my advisors at BYU Depaetment of Art, he challenged me with concepts and steadied me with faith. He held teaching, sharing his experience of Art and creation in high regard as evidenced by his generosity. I read and reread his book many times--once again, a man who profoundly helped me along my course in life and Art:)Katherine L Kerr, Provo ,UT

Such a "gentle"man. Loving husband and father. Hagen was soooo very gifted, with his beautiful art, and his knowledge. I know I am a better person from knowing him. He has left a wonderful Legacy for his family and all who knew him.

I will always remember Hagen's gentle but compelling way of teaching. There is too much to say here but it has been one of my life's greatest privileges to be associated with him. Til we meet again...
