David Vogl
August 22, 1980 – February 18, 2026
David Vogl passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 18, 2026, at the age of 45.
Born on August 22, 1980, David shared his birthday with his grandfather, a connection that held special meaning within the family. He was raised in Monterey County, where he developed many of the passions that would stay with him throughout his life. He later made Utah his home, living there for over two decades.
David had lived with diabetes for many years, facing it in his own way while continuing to pursue the things he loved.
David shared many meaningful experiences with his family over the years, including countless road trips with his dad to explore new places and create lasting memories. Those travels and shared adventures were moments of connection that will always be cherished.
He had a lifelong passion for art. What began as a love for drawing evolved into tattoo artistry, allowing him to transform creativity into meaningful, lasting work. Art was more than a hobby, it was how David expressed himself and connected with others.
David deeply loved hockey. He played at Water City in Fort Ord and was proud to be part of the hockey community there. A devoted fan of both the Pittsburgh Penguins and the San Jose Sharks, he followed the sport faithfully and found joy in the energy and spirit of the game. Hockey brought him camaraderie, competition, and a strong sense of belonging.
He also loved sci-fi, dinosaurs, comics, and imaginative worlds that fueled his creativity. He had a soft spot for animals and carried a quiet intensity when it came to the things that inspired him.
David will be remembered for his artistic spirit, his love of hockey, the memories made on the open road, and the passion he brought to the things that mattered most to him.
He is survived by his parents, his siblings, and extended family who love him deeply and will miss him always.
