Dear Sherlyn & family, I just learned of Kay's passing. As I think you know, Kay and I were law school classmates and good friends. I loved and respected him; he made me a little bit better following each encounter I had with him. Joy and I also enjoyed our time with you and him. I regret that the pandemic kept us from seeing each other during the past year. Based on all I know about Kay, I know his current circumstances are such that he awaits your joining him and that your relationship will be eternal. Love & warmest wishes, Robert F. (Bob) Orton

We love Kay. He was a gentle giant, who loved everyone, gave great hugs, and lived the gospel of Jesus Christ in word and action. We love Sherlyn and the Lewis family! So grateful that our families are tied together!

Our love and condolences to Sherlyn and all of the Lewis family.
We first met Kay as we supported our sons in high school basketball for four years. He was always very warm and inviting and encouraging. Kay was generous and inclusive to our son. Years later it was a thrill to determine that Kay and I were third cousins through our Danish ancestors. Our lives are better for having known this great man!

I am saddened by the loss of a great missionary companion and friend from the Northern Mexico Mission. My name is Garth Wakefield and I was the director of the traveling choir that toured the mission. It was Elder Lewis's deep bass voice that formed the foundation of a successful tour. He was also the tallest of the basketball players who were also the same singers in the choir. I regret not seeing him before he left.
I pray that the his family will be comforted.
