George Thomas "Tom" Watters, age 66, of Columbus, died on Thursday, October 10, 2019. He was preceded in death by his father George Thomas Watters. He is survived by his mother, Mae "Chris" Watters of Beavercreek; his wife of 34 years, Renee (Skorepa) Watters; daughter, Caitlin Watters; sons, George Watters and Ian Watters. He was the Curator of Molluscs at OSU and science director at The Mussel Conservation Facility. Tom was my only first cousin. Being eight years older than Tom I saw him grow from infancy. Early on he exhibited a great interest in science, "Why is pee yellow". Because of his love of nature one never knew what would hop, crawl or slither out of his bedroom,"The Thamnophis is missing". Very early on he showed great talent for drawing, a talent he passed on to his daughter. Tom was understated in his brilliance and a gentle soul. I shall miss him greatly.
