Liz Gorman Obituary

GORMAN Liz Gorman died peacefully at Riverside Hospital January 27, 2011 after a 7 year assault from breast cancer. Dearly loved by father, Frank L. Gorman; brother, Frank M. Gorman; step-mother, Pamela Cogley Gorman; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and scores of close friends. Her loving mother Bebe Gorman, grandparents and other aunts and uncles preceded her in death. Liz was born in Cleveland on April 10, 1962 and attended Lakewood Schools before moving to Columbus where she was graduated from Upper Arlington High School and then attended The Ohio State University. She loved all animals, especially her housemate cats. Her other passions were CD 101 and Ace In The Hole record store. She also enjoyed the meals from Debbie and Bob of Montoni's Pizzeria. Liz also loved the city/metro parks and had a special interest in promoting a clean environment. Most important to Liz were her many friendships where her huge heart, compassion, faith and bravery led her to reach out to, and inspire, so many. She never forgot her many dear friends, among them, Brian, Mark, John, Don, Jim, Tom, Darla, JK, Cliff, Pat, Mike, Kim, Amy, Billy, Lori, Beth, Steve and Dan. She loved Dr. Thomas Sweeney and the nurses and staff of Columbus Oncology and Hematology Associates, and ascribed her living longer to their ministrations and concerns for her well being. She died too young and already is dearly missed. Friends are welcome at a celebration of her life to take place on Friday, February 4 from 5-7:30 p.m. downstairs at Brazenhead Irish Pub in Grandview Heights, 1027 West 5th Ave.

Frank:
I am so sorry for your loss. You're a great friend and for that I am very thankful. With a father like you she must have been a special person.

How can I put a decades worth of memories into one single post? As your friend and neighbor, we shared so many things... I kept putting off going back to the neighborhood and stopping by, if only I had known... You're finally free, hope it's everything you imagined it to be...

Liz was everything anyone would want in a friend. We were friends for almost 40 years. I loved her so much and will always miss her. I have a beautiful message from her on my answering machine I'll save forever.
I'll be praying for her family to try and be strong like Liz was.
See you in Heaven Liz... Love, Amy
