VIDEC, Stanko
Mr. Stanko Videc passed away peacefully on April 9, 2015, at the age of 92 years. Stanko was born to Vinko and Eva Videc, in the city of Ivanec, Croatia on the family farm. He worked hard and enjoyed helping his mother run the farm, after his father died in a farm related accident. At the age of 20 years old, Stanko became a policeman and was eventually conscripted by the German army. He saw action in the Volga River Campaign, and was fortunate to return home, to the family farm, after being injured.
Stanko immigrated to Quebec, at the end of WWII. Being, a dedicated and skilled worker, he became an installer and then a supervisor of the window manufacturer he worked for. Mr. Videc was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Yosip; and sisters, Barica and Jagica. He was also predeceased by his second wife, Elizabeth Smith. Stanko is survived by his brother, Franjo, and his sons Ivan (Elena), and grandchildren Ivanka and Marisa, and son George and family. A special acknowledgement to his stepson-in-law, Alex (Janet) Pinnick who loved and cared for him faithfully. The family wishes to thank the caregivers of Capital Care, Lynwood, 4PP for their dedication and kindness shown to Papa.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at First Memorial-Harmony Chapel, 10541-81 Avenue, Edmonton. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family via the website
