HANOVER Steven L. King, 57, passed away on January 17, 2015, after a courageous three year battle with cancer. He was born in Riverside, Calif., on January 4, 1958. Steve was wide receiver for the undefeated Thunderbolts in 1974 and played for many softball teams in the area. Steven was surrounded by many devoted friends and known for his kindness and generosity. He was a member of the American Legion and frequented various social clubs in the area. Steven is survived by his step-mother, Julia King of Ft. Myers, Fla.; his sisters, Sandy and husband Dan Brown of Conestoga and Roanne Grimm and her husband Mike of Hanover; his brothers, Craig King and wife Martha of Hanover and Greg Wood and wife Mindy of Jacksonville, Fla.; nine nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his business associate Sharon Tharp and his cousin and caregiver, Wayne Mitz also of Hanover. We were sad to hear of Steve's passing. Some of my most memorable and laughable moments were with Steve and we always relived many of those moments when we met together years latter at Rhonda and Steve's class reunion. Our heart goes out to the family.

Dear All,
"Perhaps you sent a lovely card or sat quietly in a chair.
Perhaps you sent a floral piece, If so, we saw it there.
Perhaps you spoke the kindest words
As any friends could say,
Perhaps you were not there at all,
Just thought of us this day.
Whatever you did to console our hearts,
We thank you so much, Whatever the part."
The King Family,
Craig, Martha and Jessica King

Dear Stevie,
I'm so sorry that I was unable to spend time with you over the years but when family is so spread out, it is difficult to see all of your loved ones as often as you would like. At least I know that you are out of pain now and with your lovely parents again in Heaven. As for Sandy and Craig, I am so very sorry for the pain that you are both going through and if there is anything that I can do, please let me know. I love you Stevie, my dear second cousin and I also love you both Ssndy and Craig. Take care and God Bless.

Steve in his life took care of many people when they were in need. That help could be financially, physically, a kind word, or just being a good friend. In my world he was an Angel who loved to have a good time who took me under his wings. He is my cousin who treated me like a brother. I now have another guardian Angel who I will call on for guidance and help. Agape Steven love lasts forever.

January 20, 2015

I've had the privilege of knowing Steven for 35+ years. I have always been in awe of the life-long friendships he had with my husband, Dale Wolf, as well as friends like Bob Sheely & Steve Dutterer. I know the void in their lives will be felt for many years to come. I am glad that Steven's suffering is over; he fought a courageous battle.
