LESTER, JOHN

John "Farris" Lester, age 56 of Ocala, Florida went to heaven on Saturday, June 26, 2010 surrounded by family. He was born April 18, 1954 in Gainesville, Florida. He was proud to be a Master Mason and belonged to Waldo Masonic Lodge #10. He was a talented construction Superintendent and he worked in the construction industry for 35 years. He was a lifelong Gator Fan an avid collector and had a love of flying.

Farris was preceded in death by his father, G.L. Lester, Sr.; mother, Mary Francis Lester and brother, Jimmy Lester. He is survived by his children, Jennifer Bass (Brandon), Amanda Lee, Jessica Lowe (Nickolas) and Matthew Lester; grandchildren, Allison Scott, Krista Scott, Makenna Lee, Kate Bass, Sydney Bass, Jackson Lowe and Harper Lowe; brothers, G.L. Lester, Jr. and Randall Lester; sisters, Mary Lou Hall and Phyllis Lester Blackwell.

A Memorial Service will be held at WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME WESTAREA, 823 N.W. 143rd St. on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at 2:00pm. Following the service the family will gather at the farm. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to Waldo Masonic Lodge #10, 50 S.W. 3rd Way, Waldo, FL 32694.

Farris, you were a kind soul with such a loving heart. You were filled with a variety of history and knowledge, I just loved to hear all your stories. You were a big part of our lives for a long time. You were a wonderful man and will be greatly missed. Thank you for making my mom so happy for so many years. Love ya!
