I had a nice relation with Shannon in the 90's using ICQ. We lost track but I found her back a few years ago and we had a nice time on whatsapp. I knew that she was ill , she was very open on that issue. Our last contact was around Christmas. That she lost this fight against cancer is really sad, I am going to miss her. My condoleances from the Netherlands.

Sending our sincere sympathy in your loss of Shannon. Whenever we think of Shannon we ALWAYS think of the time she "stood up for" our daughter, Hilary, who was being bullied by a student on the bus. You will no doubt recall she suffered a broken arm as a result. What a true friend/neighbor she was...what an example for her daughter! We are hoping you will share this story with her. We plan to make a donation in her memory to Pets Come First here in Centre co where we now live after moving from "Stone Corner" in West Decatur. May she rest in the arms of Jesus!

I worked with Shannon at Community Action and we've been Facebook friends for several years. She always had a smile for everyone. I will miss her post about her beloved Dallas. She certainly fought hard to beat cancer but it's relentless. I am truly sorry for your loss, you raised a great girl.
