Grace, Gary, Randy, and Deano,

My Mom, Dad, and entire family send our condolances.

Spending time with your family in the old neighborhood are some of my best childhood memories. If it weren't for Duane and poker I would have never had lunch money.

Bless you all and take care.

As you passed to the next I held your hand,

But God was there too, leading you to his land.

And when those pearly gates did open wide,

All of your pain and sufferings were shed aside.

You are the strongest and bravest too,

I just wish I could be strong enough for you.

Your unrelenting battle was not to be,

But know your soul with God and free.

Whenever I need to feel your love,

I know that you are guiding me from above.

You needn’t worry about the rest of us,

You taught us more than you think you must.

You are the only grandpa I’ve ever known,

I’m proud the be able to say

That was my grandfather and I love him so!

We will truly miss Duane and all he meant to so many different people. Ever since I was little, he always reminded me of Johnny Cash with his deep voice and hearty laugh! I can just see him telling some story and holding everyone's attention so easily.

Your family will be in our prayers. We miss you all and love you very much.

Hugs, kisses, and prayers,

Will, Kristi, Matthew, and Piper Schmidt
