Begoña SOLANA ELORZA

SOLANA ELORZA, Begoña Begoña Solana Elorza, 51, of West Hartford, died at home on Tuesday, (April 19, 2011.) She was born on April 17, 1960 in Mexico City, Mexico, the daughter of Ramon Solana Gonzalez and Ana Maria Elorza Apodaca. She moved with her family to Santander, Spain in 1965, where she spent her formative years. She then studied psychology at the University of Salamanca, Spain where she received her Master's Degree in 1982. After university she moved to Hartford, Connecticut where she worked as a psychiatric social worker. In 1984, she met Theodore Stevens "Steve" Walsh, whom she married on August 6, 1994. Bego a and Steve have three boys, David Stevens Walsh, Daniel Eric Walsh and Andrew Ian Walsh. With her training in psychology, she worked in the Connecticut Department of Children and Families as a clinical social worker with Spanish-speaking psychiatric patients. More recently she worked as a court interpreter for the Connecticut Judicial Branch. Bego a is survived by her husband, Steve; her three sons, David (15), Daniel (13) and Andrew (10); her mother, Ana Maria Elorza Apodaca from Santander, Spain; her sister, Pilar, from Madrid, Spain; and her two brothers, Ramon, from Santander, Spain and Miguel, from Bilbao, Spain. Her loss is deeply mourned by her loving immediate and extended families, by her wide circle of close and caring friends, and by her colleagues at work. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, April 25, 2011 from 4-8 p.m. at the Taylor & Modeen Funeral Home, 136 South Main Street, West Hartford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at 10 a.m. at the Church of St. Peter Claver, 47 Pleasant Street, West Hartford. Afterwards, Begoña's ashes will be buried at Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford followed by a reception at the church.
