Samshel Lopez-Snodgrass Obituary

Samshel Lopez-Snodgrass, 14, died Sept. 8, 2017. A memorial and message will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 15 at Zion Lutheran Church, 1025 High St.
Sammy "Boneneng" was born Jan. 3, 2003, in San Carlos Pangasinan, Philippines. She moved to the United States in August 2007 at the age of 4 with her mother, Nisel Lopez. She was a determined and tenacious young lady. An honor student from the time she was in kindergarten and survived a life-threatening childhood illness. She was a loving child with a radiant smile. In her younger years she found joy in waking her mother up by sitting on her and putting her fingers in her face. Samshel loved to wrestle with her little brother, Wyatt and at the age of 9 discovered her passion for soccer. She dedicated hundreds of hours to the sport and her soccer family. Hot Cheetos and Dynamite Doritos were at the top of her favorites list. Sammy had one of the kindest souls. She opened her hands and heart to so many people and brought joy into this world.
Samshel is survived by her mother, Niesel; brother, Wyatt; father, Mike; grandparents Celia Lopez, Bill and Donna Snodgrass and many other family members.

As a parent my heart goes out to you. to lose a child in death is beyond words. Although, there is deep emotional pain, I wish you much support and comfort, and I hope the words found at Psalms 94:19 will be of some encouragement. "When anxieties overwhelmed me, you[LORD]comforted and soothed me".
