During these years, Dan married Grace and started their family. After Christmas in 1959, Dan and Grace, with their four eldest sons moved to Sarasota. Dan purchased several lots in Sarasota, built a few spec homes as well as some custom homes, but mainly ran a framing crew for the next 18 years. Later one of his sons would partner with Dan until he semi-retired in the mid-80's.
Dan worked part-time with Grace as she became a care-giver in their home for the next 14+ years. He pursued his passion of antique buying and selling during this time of their lives.
