I grew up across the street from Mr. Bill. I have fond memories of Bill and Corrine, Timmy and Robbie tossing the football in the street. I am saddened by the loss of such a great man. May you find comfort in your time of Grief.

Corrine,
I was so saddened to just learn of Bill’s passing. He was one of my rocks. I will always remember Bill for the mornings we drank coffee and spoke of our illnesses. During my illness and while recovering, Bill always had a knack for driving by during my morning walks. He would be on his way to an extra job but always took the time to chat. He would drive off and say in his deep voice “I am praying for you brother”.
I will never forget him. I am praying for you all to find peace in knowing Bill is in a better place and probably singing his heart out.
What else can I say, like many, “I loved the guy”

To My Dearest Nonie,
I am so glad you and PawPaw came to visit me this summer and I had the chance to help care for him. I already miss PawPaw so much! Me & Mommy & Daddy point out PawPaw's star every night before bedtime. I wish I still had my PawPaw here, but I know as I grow up I will get to learn more about him through all the pictures we have taken and the memories we will share. Even though he is in heaven now, he will always be "MY PAWPAW."
I love you very much!!

Corinne is one of my dearest friends, and she was Bill's best friend. He was a great husband to her and a wonderful dad to Bryan, Tim, and Robbie. One thing he never accomplised on earth was to get Corinne anywhere on time. Maybe he can help her now from above. Bill does not have to worry about Corinne, because we (the Christmas Cookie Exchange friends), myself,Brenda, Nancy, Verna, and MoMo will look after her. We will all miss you and your beautiful voice.
Love,
Belinda

To All of Bill's love ones:
This is such a hard time for you and I know that Bill will be greatly missed. Heaven has just gained another wonderful vocalist and guitar player.
Bill was a classmate of ours and then became a friend when I started dating Jerry. He understood me when I would talk about God and did not judge like many others did. Bill you were a "GREAT MAN" and this world was a better place knowing you.

I heard Bill sing with the Peacemakers the first time I went to a gospel singing in Rockport,Tx, and was impressed with Bill's singing sincerity. My heart goes out to his family, I am so sorry for your loss. Bill's singing inspired me to attend gospel singings, and I listen to the CD I have of the Peacemakers often. They will truly be missed at the annual Rockort Gospel festivals every Jan. Lola Ward

My prayers are with Bill and all his family and loved ones. I went to high school with Bill and he was such a great guy. We played football together and he was such a competitor. I admired Bill because he had strength in many ways not only was he a big strong guy but he had inner strength that you could see/hear in his music. I still have memories of hearing Bill and of him playing guitar. God bless all of you and you can be assured he is in heaven and singing to all of us.

To the family and friends of Bill; there are so many wonderful things that can be said about Bill; but the most important was that he was a God fearing man and to know him was to know love. The family will remain in our prayers.

I was so sad to hear that Bill had passed away. I had heard that he had been sick but I didn't realize that it was terminal. Bill and I went to high school together and I spent lots of time at his family's house. I loved him and his family very much. They had so much fun together and everyone was always welcome at their house. It sounds like that carried over into his adult life. Corinne, I never met you but my heart goes out to you and the rest of the family. There is not a doubt in my mind that he is in Heaven and probably singing his heart out. You have the comfort of knowing you will see him again. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

What a special, compassionate and loving guy! There is absolutely no one like Bill. I met him in 1995 while working in the security area at Texas Children's Hospital and he immediately began giving me daily inspiration that a young person as myself needed at that time. He was ALWAYS positive and never let anything get in the way of daily thrive of being a Christian. I hadn't seen Bill for the last 3 to 4 years because I was working at an offsite TCH entity. I transferred back to the hospital on this past Monday (Aug 28th) and he was one person I was looking forward to seeing. I am deeply saddened about his passing and want the family to know that HE was truly an awesome, caring, supportive, unconditional man that touched many lives in his daily walk. Please know that he will be deeply missed by myself and many others at Texas Children's Hospital. I will keep the family in my thoughts and prayers.

I first knew Bill way back in the '60's when we were very young and he was my sister's boyfriend. Our entire family fell in love with him! I was learning to play the guitar and Bill and I would sing and play our hearts out until Becky would put her foot down!
Much later, when our Mom was getting on in years, Bill would give her a call just to check on her. That's the kind of guy he was!
I remember how honored my Mom was when Bill just showed up to visit one day. She's in Heaven now and I know Bill will find the time to check in on her one more time.
My thoughts and prayers go out to each and every member of Bill's family. How fortunate we all are, to have had him in our lives one way or another.

I had not seen bill since his illness. It seems like life is always taking each and every one of us in different directions. I was the Chef at the Forest Club for seven years. During this time I spent quite a bit of time with Bill, And since my name is Baker too we had an instant connection. I will remember several things about Bill. One could have come in contact with Bill and not know about his deep love for the Lord and his family. He often came by the club after his shift at the hospital. He was always best food taster by far...I loved feeding a person that was always grateful. We had many a long conversations about family, faith , gardening. I had a vegetable garden at the club and during the growing season Bill would keep watch on my tomatoes from the hours between 2 and 4 a.m. He would often say he could see them grow. Bill was a great man, a good friend that I will always look back at the fellow Baker with the fondest memories.
The service was very special to me. Corrine I have to tell you that when I left more inspired than ever to make the most of the time that the Lord has given me. To be the best father, and husband that a man could be. To make new friends and to be a good friend.
I am so sorry for your loss.

I did not ever get to meet Bill's family, but Bill and I graduated from Humble High School the same year. He was always a strong, likable, and God-fearing guy even from a young age. I'm so sorry for the loss of your father, husband, and brother. Sounds like he led a wonderful Christian and charitable life since our Humble High days. I know he sings in heaven's choir today.

My husband and I met Bill at the gun show years ago and enjoyed his company. He shared his testimony with me and I shared mine with him. He inspired me when my father was so ill and since then I have been praying for him and your family. I know I will hear his wonderful voice when we sing together again in Heaven. May God be with your family during this time of sorrow.

I just can not believe this. I am so sad! I had tried for many years to look up Bill, Paula and Connie but could never locate any of them. I had heard that Bill was sick just recently. I loved all of the Baker family. I grew up practically at their house on Mistletoe and can still hear his voice saying "Hello Sonny and Sheryl" to me. I did not hear about this in time to pay my respects in person but my thoughts and prayers are with this wonderful family!!!!! Love, Sheryl Walton

I and my daughter knew Bill from the Gun Shows, but also from the work he would do providing security for the film industry. I also had the pleasure of hearing him sing on at least two occasions with the Peacemakers. We had talked about spiritual things on occasion and he once said "We never know when God will call us back." How true. He was a good man, and will be missed. The family has my deepest sympathy.

Bill Baker will always have a special place in my heart as one of the kindest and happiest men I have ever met. He always had the biggest smile on his face. My father Joe Chebret worked with Bill as a fellow Houston Police Officer and they were great friends. When I was little, we lived down the street from the Bakers and I have many fond memories of get-togethers with them. I will keep you all in my prayers during this difficult time.

We share with you the grief that comes with death and yet we rejoice in knowing that Bill touched so many and did so much good in this life. We take comfort in knowing that his faith in God and the content of his character has led him into the arms of the Father where he is being told, "Good job, and Welcome HOME!" God Bless Bill and all who loved him! If you guys need anything at all, Tim knows where to find me!

I met Bill only through the Peacemakers. They were special to me because my father was instrumental in starting the original group and he sang tenor in it for a few years. My dad is also in heaven now, so I imagine that he and Bill are having a grand ‘ole time singing together around the throne of God. Bill’s powerful lead and my wonderful dad’s tenor… I bet it’s just beautiful in God’s ears! I am so thankful for Bill and his service to our God and our city. I know he will be missed.

All my Prayers are with the entire "Bill Baker Family". I had the honor of knowing and working with Bill for many years in Houston. He worked many extra jobs in the Movie Industry with me. I always loved to be around Bill because of his positive outlook on life and his giant laugh aways made you feel better. Several years after I retired and moved away to the Hill Country Bill and I re-connected at Rockport at a Southern Gospel Music fest. We shared our love for Christ and gospel music then and each time we met (in person or in emails on the internet). I will really miss a great friend and Christian brother. Somehow, I think Bill is puting together a Gospel Quartet in heaven right now. Some day I hope to join him and hear his great voice praising our God on high. Until then I will just listen to the CD's I have. I Love ya Bill.

Bill and I both applied for the Houston Police Department while we were working at Drilco in 1976. The academy class got postponed and I went to work for the Sheriff's Department, with Bill's help, and Bill went to the HPD academy when it came up. Over the years we ran into each other at work on occassions and we always talked about getting together with our mutual friend "Preacher Dan" Daniel Meadors, but it never happened. Dan and I both regret that it didn't. I wish that I could tell him how much I appreciated him and his dad's help in getting me on with the Sheriff's Department where I retired after 26 years. It is because of Bill and his kindness that I am having the opportunity to enjoy the life that I have now. I send my deepest sympathy to Corinne and the boys but they can take heart in knowing that Bill is in a far better place with his Lord.
