Vonda Myler Obituary

Vonda Maxine Price Myler
DOWNEY - Vonda Maxine Price Myler passed away Friday, Feb. 25, 2011, at the Downey Care Center in Downey, Idaho.
Vonda was the sixth born child of Roy and Edith Price. She was born on May 20, 1921, in West Jordan, Utah.
Vonda was raised and attended school in West Jordan as well. It was in Utah at a dance that she met the love of her life, John A. Myler. After a short engagement, they were married on May 5, 1943, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple in Salt Lake City Utah.
After their marriage, they moved to the family farm in Arbon Valley, Idaho. It was here that they started their family. They later moved to Arco, Idaho, where John continued to farm and ranch. In 1956, the family moved to Arimo, Idaho, where they lived out the rest of their lives farming and raising their family.
John and Vonda were married for 36 years before John passed away on Feb 14, 1979. During her lifetime, Vonda was an active member of the LDS church. Over the years she served in many callings in all the organizations of the church. Vonda loved being with her children and grandchildren. They were truly the joy of her life. Her hobbies included, cooking, baking, (especially homemade bread) quilting and sewing. One of her greatest qualities was her ability to care for others. Friends, neighbors, and family will always remember her for her willingness to provide care and assistance to others during difficult times of their lives.
Vonda is survived by her four sons and one daughter, Gordon, (Jackie) Myler of Downata Hot Springs, Idaho, Don (Nancy) Myler of Boise, Idaho, Dean (Kathie) Myler of Roseburg, Oregon, Steve (Karen) Myler of Inkom, Idaho, and Carol (Kevin) Beebe of Inkom, Idaho. She is also survived by her 24 grandchildren, 46 great-grand children, and 1 great-great-grandchild, as well as a sister, Janice Egbert of Lewiston, Utah.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Myler, two infant sons, Aaron Roy and Max E., her parents, Roy and Edith Price, three brothers, Leslie, Burdette, and Keith, and seven sisters, Melva, Afton, Charlotte, Ella, Elsa, Rhea, and Lois.
Her family would like to extend our thanks to neighbors, friends, family, and the wonderful staff at the Downey Care Center in Downey, Idaho. A special thanks also to the good people of Alliance Home Heath and Hospice for their loving and kind care during her time of need. Thanks also to the caring doctors, nurses, and staff at the Portneuf Regional Medical Center for their concern and care during a very difficult time.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday March 1, 2011, at noon in the Arimo LDS Stake Chapel. Friends may visit with the Myler family on Tuesday at the church prior to services from 10:30 to 11:45 am. Burial will follow in the cemetery.
Condolences may be sent to www.horsleyfuneralhome.com. Services are under the care and direction of Horsley's Marsh Valley Funeral Home.

All my love to my Myler cousins. Aunt Vonda was one of my favorite aunts. Of course, Uncle John WAS my favorite uncle (he had such a good birthday, after all). What a wonderful reunion for them. She loved him and missed him so much! Wish I could have been there.

I went online to the Idaho State Journal today. I haven't looked at Idaho news for months. I don't know why I looked at the obituary section. But I was glad I did or I would not have known. I have great memories from growing up in Arimo, and the Myler family is a big part of those memories. Thank you for your friendship to me and my family for all those years. I am very sorry to hear about your loss.

To Steve, Karen and the Myler Family. I grew up knowing both your parents in mutual and young women's activities. They were good people and lots of fun. I know you will miss Vonda so much. Our thoughts are with you.
