Daniel Kinkaid Obituary

Daniel "Danny" Ray Kinkaid
1952 ~ 2016
Daniel "Danny" Ray Kinkaid passed into his Savior's loving arms on February 24, 2016. A remembrance of his life will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Ustick Baptist Church, 14301 West McMillan Road at 3:00 p.m. A reception will immediately follow. Danny was born in San Francisco, California on September 5, 1952. He moved from San Francisco to Washington State while still very young. In 1963, his family moved back to the San Francisco Bay Area. He graduated in 1971 from Aragon High School in San Mateo. In 1979, he married the love of his life and together they have two beautiful daughters. He was a natural born "MacGyver" much to his parents' pride and occasional dismay. He loved tinkering with "stuff" and could make or fix just about anything you asked of him. Those talents lead his to Edward Enterprises where he learned all aspects of the machining trade. He became a Journeyman Machinist while at Edwards. In 1981, Danny moved his family to Boise, Idaho. Micron Technology hired him in 1987 where he worked for the last 29 years advancing from Journeyman Machinist to Project Coordinator Estimator. He came to know his Lord and Savior on September 14, 1997. His life verse is Romans 1:16. Danny always had a servant's heart, but children and youth tugged on his heartstrings for many years. He served in children's Sunday School, AWANA and Vacation Bible School and eventually became a Youth Leader with the high school students. As with many aspects of his life, Danny was a trailblazer. That unique gift helped lead teens on a trail to discovering God's love for them. His passion was to aide teen boys into becoming godly young men.
Danny is survived by his wife, Marie; daughter, Danielle and her husband, Nelson Norton; daughter, Shawna and her husband, Jason Williams with granddaughters, Kylie and Trinity; his parents, Herb and Maxine Kinkaid; and siblings: Steve, Debbie and Brian along with their families. Any monetary gifts may go to Mission Aviation Fellowship or Ustick Baptist Church. The family would like to thank St. Alphonsus Hospital for their kindness and special care of Danny and his family. I was saddened today as I found Dan had passed. Over the last 12 years of knowing him, he was kind and always spoke highly of all. He made the world a better place. He will be missed greatly and I am pleased to have had the honor of knowing him.
God is surely with you

I can't get used to to the idea of Danny being gone. Some people give hugs. Danny gave HUGS. Years ago we rode together to mens' retreats. There was good conversation, some humorous, some very scripturally focused.
Danny, like myself, was very aware of the deterioration in our culture and we shared a lot about our responsibility as believers to be ready. He WAS ready.....and now he is in perfect peace. I'm happy for him-but I do miss him

Dad-
You were a wonderful father, and I miss you so....you're contagious smile, your giant bear hugs, and your unique wisdom. To know I can't seek your advice or receive your words of encouragement, breaks my heart. I can only find comfort in knowing I will see you again in paradise. Until then, I love you!

Danny, your contagious smile and sense happiness effected not just us but from what I can tell, everyone who knew and loved you. We are so blessed and thankful to have gotten to share the time that we did with you. You will always be in our hearts.

To our sweet son--our hearts are so sad-but we know you are with our Lord Jesus. And someday we will be with you in Heaven. When we think back to when you were a little boy--it puts a smile on our face.

Our first memory of Dan was meeting him in a home group. Then we met him in Fred Meyer where he invited Don and I to his and Marie's house for their Alaskan Fish Bake. They had recently gone to Alaska and invited friends over to sample the awesome salmon. From that moment on we were included in many wonderful times with the Kinkaids, spent many Friday nights in a great support home group where we established a friendship, that even though we didn't see often, our hearts, love and friendship were alway present. We celebrated many family events and weddings. Our last time together was at our daughter's wedding. His presence and our talk then will always remain in my heart.

What a great man! Who was all God could ask for and was a great husband, father and friend. We will miss him greatly, but glorify in the fact that the rests in the Father's arms. Well Done my Good and Faithful Servant.

Love, Don & Debb Taylor
