Lois Barnes

Anderson - Lois Barnes, 86, passed away on January 5th, 2021 in Anderson, SC.

Lois was born December 9th, 1934 in Clinton,NY to Milton and Doris Hughes. Milton was a World War II veteran stationed in Belgium. Lois grew up in Clinton, NY on a farm where she enjoyed ice skating and horseback riding. She was an accomplished artist and once was a member of the Anderson Art Society. She was much loved by her family, friends, and the children she cared for as a nanny.

Lois is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Douglas James Hughes of Maryland, her daughter Marva Fischer, and son Michael Fischer.

Lois is survived by her three sons, Eric "Jeff" Fischer, Jody Fischer, James Douglas Fischer and Wendy. She is also lovingly remembered by her six grandchildren: Michael Fischer and Margaret, Kelsey Priester and Robert, Kyle Fischer, Quinten Fischer, Trent Fischer, and Mason Fischer; and one great-grandson, Noah Priester.

A memorial will be held at a later date in her home state of New York.

The family will host a life celebration to be held at the Hilton Garden Inn, 115 Destination Blvd. 29621. On January 16 from 2-6 pm

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, Inc., 1935 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.

The Family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Summit Place and Hospice of the Upstate for the exceptional care given to Lois.
