RALPH MENVIELLE Obituary

Ralph Menvielle, 68, lifelong Imperial Valley resident went home to be with our Lord and Savior, April 19, 2018 while at his home in El Centro, surrounded by family. Ralph was born in Calexico, California to John F. and Marscia Menvielle. He attended Jasper School, and graduated from Calexico High School in 1968. Ralph attended Imperial Valley College, transferred to Cal Poly Pomona, and graduated in 1973 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture Business Management. He worked for Ted Miller Hay Company as a hay buyer from 1973-1983 before starting Menvielle Hay Company. In 1988 he aquired Quality Scales on Dogwood Rd in El Centro and operated both his hay brokerage business and truck weighing business until he became ill in 2017. Ralph was a member of Imperial County Farm Bureau, served two terms on the Imperial Irrigation District Board of Directors, was an alternate for LAFCO, served on the School Site Council for Central Union High School, and was a Calvary Chapel board member. Ralph is survived by his wife of 39 years, Sharon Schneider-Menvielle of El Centro; sons, Joshua Menvielle, John Clifford Menvielle, Jordan Menvielle (Sara) all of San Diego; brothers, John Pierre Menvielle (Genevieve), and Robert Menvielle (Marianne); mother-in-law Effie Schneider-Ligons, sister-in-law, Debbie Schneider-Burquist (John) all of El Centro and brother-in-law, Clifford Schneider (Jarene) Holtville; nephews, Justin Burquist of San Diego, Jeffrey Burquist of El Centro and numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, John F. and Marscia Menvielle; brother, Joseph R. Menvielle and brother-in-law Dennis Schneider. Ralph enjoyed his annual family vacations at the happiest place on earth, Disneyland. A highlight for Ralph this past year was riding in the Calexico Christmas Parade along with members of the Menvielle Family who served as the Grand Marshals for the 2017 Calexico Christmas Parade. Ralph was well known as a hard working perfectionist, an energetic individual, and most of all a man with a caring spirit. Ralph made a great impact on the Imperial Valley and will be greatly missed. A Celebration of Ralphs Life will be held on Saturday May 12, 2018, 10 a.m. at Calvary Chapel Church, 1923 Austin Road, El Centro, California. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the El Centro Calvary Chapel Church, Dees Animal Rescue or the Humane Society of Imperial County. Matthew 25:23

Case Devries

June 26, 2018

On behalf of the DeVries family I would like to express our condolences to the Menvielle family. My father, Garrett bought hay from Ralph for 30 years and they became close friends, I grew up making trips to imperial with my dad and it was with them that I received my education about hay at a young age. Ralph and I were reconnected 4 years ago when I began my career in hay brokerage, we visited many times over the phone and he imparted so much Godly wisdom upon me. Integral to his business were integrity and his personal faith, the same values I share. He will be missed. Rest in peace Ralph

We wish to express our most sincere condolences to the Menvielle family at this time of such a great loss. My recollection of Ralph was first when we were in 4-H clubs in the valley. His parents, like mine, were very much involved in the county 4-H Club events and we were members of our respective clubs. Both of us graduated from our high schools in 1968 and I would see him at IVC occasionally. Ralph seemed to always be a happy friend and I shall never forget his smiling face. My heart goes out to his family and I pray the comfort of the Holy Ghost will rest upon each of them in the precious Name of Jesus.

I'm deeply saddened to hear that Ralph has passed away.
I knew Ralph from a bowling class at Imperial Valley College. Later we both transferred to Cal Poly Pomona and we were roommates for two years.
I haven't seen Ralph since I graduated from Cal Poly but I was always thought of him from time to time.
RIP Ralph, your in God's hands now.

Sharon, our hearts ache for you and your family, but I know your faith in Jesus will sustain you. Ralph has graduated into the kingdom. "Beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day" (2 Peter 3:8). We'll only be minutes behind. We love you.
