Clinton Sheets Obituary

Clinton H. Sheets Jr., 85

Clinton Howard "Duke" Sheets Jr., 85, of Attica, formerly of Otterbein, died Sunday, March 4, 2012, at his home. He was born March 27, 1926, to the late Clinton Howard and Olga Elizabeth Chase Sheets. He married Bethel Burke Sheets on June 1, 1952, in Otterbein, she survives. He was in World War II serving in the US Army. He had previously farmed with Clyde Drake; he had also worked as a Truck Driver for Mudhog, Peat Bog, Rowe Trucking & Gobel Trucking. He was a member of the Otterbein American Legion Martin Kennedy Post #125 and Battle Ground Saddle Club, enjoyed horseback riding, basketball, baseball and camping.

Surviving with his wife are 2 daughters, Debra Crane, Clarks Hill and Carolyn Freeland, Lafayette; 2 sons, James Sheets, wife Jill, Attica and John "Jeff" Sheets, wife Pam; 2 sisters, Fern Sims and Beulah Cole, husband Tom, both of West Lafayette, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Son Dennis Sheets, brother John Sheets and sister Lillian Mills precede him in death.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 7, 2012, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 12 p.m., at Shoemaker Funeral Home, Otterbein, with Pastor Roger McDaniel officiating. Burial will be at Montmorenci Cemetery with full military honors by Otterbein American Legion Martin Kennedy Post #125. Memorial Contributions, may be made, to Otterbein Area Volunteer Fire & Rescue or Battle Ground Saddle Club.
