Frank Alting Obituary

Frank Alting

Scottsboro - Nov. 11, 1967 - Aug 23, 2018

Frank Edward Alting IV, age 50 of Scottsboro, AL, passed away Thursday August 23, 2018, in the Jackson County Hospital from complications of Pneumonia. He is survived by his son, Frankie E. Alting, V, and daughter, Brianna Alting, of Scottsboro; his parents Frank E. Alting III and Teresa Alting Stormont of Lafayette. His brother Troy A. Alting; sister Jackie K. Morehouse; nephews Elijah and Jonah Morehouse also of Lafayette.

Frank relocated to Scottsboro, AL in 2016 to be close to his children, who were the most important people in his life. He was dedicated to them and their happiness. They were his pride and joy.

He graduated from Harrison High School. Frank was a Union painter for twenty years, during that time he served six years as President of Local #80 and Apprentice Instructor; also for six years after which he suffered a disability that forced him to retire from the union. He continued to paint smaller jobs in Lafayette and also in Scottsboro.

He was an avid golfer who played as much as he could. He was a member of the Goose Pond Colony Golf Men's Club. One of his favorite things was playing with his family and his friends whenever he was able.

He also liked to play pool as often as he could. Frank played poker since he was a child at family dinners and enjoyed playing Texas Hold'em Poker, especially in tournaments whenever he was home.

He was a Sons of Legionnaire (SAL) member at the American Legion Post 11, in Lafayette.

He loved the Indianapolis Colts and Chicago Cubs. However, he enjoyed watching the Chicago Bears with his Aunt Jackie.

Memorial Service will be held 4 p.m. Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Hippensteel Funeral Home with a one hour prior visitation. Celebrant Theresa Fischer will officiate. Share memories and condolences online at www.hippensteelfuneralservice.com

When your Uncle Dave and I married, I inherit a very special nephew. You were always so kind, and a very supportive presence at our children's weddings. Rest in peace Frank until we all meet again.
