John, I am so sorry to hear about your dad. When you lived in Richland Center, I was your first nursery & Sunday School teacher as well as one of your babysitters. My younger sister was a classmate & friend of Jimmy's.
I have so many strong, warm memories of both your parents (& your whole family)! Youth group meetings & of course choir with your mom. Even all these years later, your dad's Maundy Thursday sermons are some of my strongest faith-building memories of him. I was in his last confirmation class in RC & he was so tickled to use a more modern book as part of our study materials; it was called "God, Man, And Archie Bunker"! We had some great discussions with him over it! In parts of the church I swore I could still smell his pipe once in awhile (even 10 years later)!!! One of the COVID testing sites is the county fairgrounds here and when in line we pass the "Ellis K Gasser" horse arena. I always smile & get teary when I see the sign. The last time I saw your parents they were bragging on you. Their pride they couldn't hide! Would love to catch up with you sometime. Peace be with you all.
