Robert C. Brinkmeier 1942—2017
Robert C. Brinkmeier, 75, of Savanna, IL, formerly of Freeport, IL, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, December 6, 2017, at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport. He was born May 27, 1942; the son of the late Melvin and Edna (Heidenreich) Brinkmeier. He married Sharon Schulthess in 1967. He worked for Modern Plating in Freeport his whole life. He enjoyed bowling, racing, and playing bingo, which was his favorite. He enjoyed spending time with his family especially watching his grandchildren's sports and his dog, Ottie. He is survived by his sons, Todd (Michelle) Brinkmeier of Freeport and John Brinkmeier of Freeport; daughters, Heidi (Dan Champion) Barry of Freeport and Kelly (Ronald) Smith of Freeport; grandchildren, Michael Brinkmeier, Joseph Brinkmeier, Sabrina Barry, Haley Brinkmeier, Joshua Smith, Amber Smith, Marshall Smith, and Joseph Smith; significant other, Janice Boyer of Freeport; former wife, Sharon Barthel of Freeport; brother, Ronnie (Marlene) Brinkmeier of Beloit, WI; and sister, Donna Moyer of Pearl City. He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Brittney Brinkmeier; and brother, Roger Brinkmeier.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 12th, at Walker Mortuary in Freeport, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport at a later date.
