Beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, died on Wednesday, July 24, 2002 at age 76. The cause of her death was cancer. Nancy was born and raised in Pasadena, California, where her parents Frederick R. and Edith M. Huggins owned and managed Huggins Shoe Store. She attended McKinley Junior High School and South Pasadena High School. After high school, she attended Scripps College and UCLA. In 1945, Nancy married Charles T. Munger, with whom she had three children. After that marriage ended in divorce, she married Dr. Robert G. Freeman in 1957, and became the step-mother of his three children. She became a widow when Bob Freeman died in 1975. Nancy was an active community volunteer, working for years to support the Convalescent Aid Society, the Pasadena Art Alliance, and Pasadena Beautiful and volunteered as a poll worker for each election right up until recently when her illness made it impossible. She also served on the Board of Sequoyah School for several years. Nancy was beloved by her family and friends. She was a giver, not a taker. She was known for her wonderful sense of humor and her support of those she loved. She was a loving mother whose children knew they were lucky to have her as a mother. She adored her role as a mother, but she seemed to find even greater joy in her role as a grandmother. For example, as soon as her grandsons were old enough, she established the goal of taking them to each major league baseball park in the United States. They were more than half way towards achieving that goal at the time of her death, and they had also visited several baseball spring training locations as well. She had special times with each of her grandchildren. Nancy is survived by her daughters, Molly Munger and Wendy Munger, Molly's husband Stephen R. English, Wendy's husband Leonard L. Gumport, and her step-children Alan G. Freeman and his wife Kathie, Zoe Freeman Rowe, and D. Robert Freeman. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Nicholas and Alfred English, and Anna, Tom, and Mary Gumport; six step-grandchildren from the Freeman family, including Megan and Christopher Freeman who were particularly devoted to her; and several step-great grandchildren. A loving taped message from her youngest step great-grandchild, Fiona Grace Grundei-Freeman, was one of the last things Nancy heard before her death. She was preceded in death by her son, Thomas F.
