Columbus, Georgia- Michael David Sorkey, 39, of Columbus, died July 20, 2017. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Striffler-Hamby Mortuary of Columbus and a Private Memorial Service will be set for a future date.
Michael, son of Fanny N. Sorkey and the late David Paul Sorkey MD, was born December 19, 1977 in Topeka, Kansas. He graduated from Hardaway High School in 1996, where he was a member of the soccer team. Michael graduated from Auburn University and Mercer Law School. He worked for the Bibb County Solicitor General Office before moving back to Columbus. Most recently, Michael worked for the Office of the Solicitor General Muscogee County in Columbus, Georgia.
Michael is survived by his daughter, Kadyn; mother, Fanny; brother, Steven; uncles; aunts; and friends of the heart.

Was so shocked to hear this devastating news. Mike was always so kind to me in high school. He was the kind of person that would help you any way he could. Your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
