Angela Alvarado

NORWICH - Angela Alvarado went to be with the Lord peacefully on June 11, 2020 at 7:41pm at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital. She was born November 7, 1941 in Barranantas, Puerto Rico to the late Nicolas and Josefa (Mateo) Alvarado, predeceased by sister Gumercinda and brothers Adolfo, Antonio, Florencio, Domingo Alvarado. Angela was born and raised in Puerto Rico and moved to the United States as a young adult. She was a loyal worker who worked in Pfaff Tool Mfg Co Inc. for over 20 years in Kearny, NJ. She loved her family more than anything and was supportive of them. Angela's passion was playing the guitar and singing. She also enjoyed an instrument called the guiro in Spanish. She was the first to be ready for the Puerto Rican tradition called paranda, Christmas caroling, as this was her favorite holiday. She was a woman of prayer who prayed on her knees nightly no matter where she was. She was generous to a fault and shared the little she may have had. She kept her Puerto Rican heritage alive even in the states. She enjoyed her coffee and jelly donuts regularly, sometimes too much. She also enjoyed spending time with her siblings back in Puerto Rico who were her best friends, as well as her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She left to cherish in her memory Lisa Tetlow, her beloved Daughter and her husband David Tetlow; grandchildren Madelyn, Bryan, Jason and Jaden; great grandchildren Elijah, Alayna, Brayden; sisters Ceferina, Margarita, Marta and a brother Liborio as well as a host of nieces and nephews. She is not with us in person, but her memory will live in our hearts forever. A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 19th from 6-8 pm at the Woyasz & Son Funeral Home, 11 Jerome Road, Uncasville.
