Peter Galvin

Peter Galvin, 65, of Marlborough, MA, died Saturday, July 8, 2006 at Boston Medical Center, after a long struggle with Huntington’s Disease.

Born in Brockton, MA, he was the son of the late John and Marjorie ( Parsons) Galvin, and the husband of Lori ( Perreault) Galvin, of Marlborough, to whom he had been married for the past 42 years.

Following his graduation from Oliver Ames High School, Easton, MA, in 1958, Mr. Galvin enlisted in the United States Army, later graduating from Northeastern University.

He had been employed as the Director of Purchasing and Manufacturing for Nova Biomedical, Waltham, MA, until his retirement in 1997.

He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Parish, Marlborough, and had been involved with Marlborough youth activities.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his son; Matthew Galvin, of Jamaica Plain, his daughters; Susan Galvin and her fiancé, James Quirk, of Savin Hill, and Moira McAteer and her husband, Sean, of Jamaica Plain, his granddaughter and godchild, Mona Jean McAteer, and his cousin; Jane Clancy, of Attleboro, MA.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 14, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church, Prospect St., Marlborough, MA. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson St., Marlborough, MA. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2006 from 5-8 p.m. in the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc., 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough, MA.
