Mr & Mrs Alves,
It seems like only yesterday that I received that horrible phone call. How can it be that 9 years has passed and yet the pain stays the same? I gained so much with having known Louie. I've had the pleasure of having both you and Mr. Alves in my live since I was 12 years old and if not for Louie coming in to my live I would have been the poorer for it. I know that Louie is watching over you both with Skye by his side. They both loved you so much, and as much as they were blessed to have you in their lives, you both were a blessing in there's as you have been in mine and my mothers.
On this day I send you my prays, love, and the hope that you know that even though Louie and Skye were with us for such a short time, our lives are that much richer for having them if only for awhile.
With love Tori

Seven years have passed and there is still a void left by your presence. There is something to be said for a man that leaves a lasting impression. You are missed and fondly remembered. Everlasting peace, my friend.

5 Years...Sometimes it seems like yesterday and sometimes it seems like it has been such a long, long time since the last time I saw your smile, but the truth is that your are missed and loved...still. You know the portuguese beleive that when a Godchild passes before the Godparent, that the godchild saves a special place in heaven for the godmother. So hold that spot Godson...I love you.

Louie my metal brother, I miss you dearly everyday. On this 5 year anniversary I am thinking about all the great times we had together. You could always make me laugh and vice versa.
Im just sorry it took us so long to become such great friends and then a year later you were gone.
We certainly packed alot of great memories into that year though, didn't we?
All those Fri and Sat nights at The Villa, and so many of them were so boring, but I'd trade anything for another boring night at the Villa with you Lou

My dear family members, does not seem possible, that in March 23, 2003 I wrote an entry. 5 years have passed Louie, but you have not been forgotten. I attended your beautiful Mass at St. Anthony's on Sunday and you would be proud of your parents, sister, and niece. You handsome picture adorned on the altar, that beautiful smile of yours. We did remember you, and will never forget you. You are always in our prayers, thoughts and
your family will always be our family. Love Prima Rose Teixeira

ROCK ON, LOUIE

His name was Louie.

He was family,
and friend,
and especially,
our funny man,
made us laugh
constantly,
but on that night
when hell transpired,
he became a casualty,
of the Station fire.

He loved rock music,
big fan of
the big hair bands,
big heart, big child,
inside the man.

Quicksilver smile
ear to ear,
patient, helpful,
always there
if you needed him,
didn't matter,
where or when.

He was our friend,
he was family,
and especially,
our funny man,
made us laugh
constantly, our sweet
and gentle Louie,
we love you,
and miss you, terribly.

I only met Louis once or twice (first time at a show in Attleboro), but he seemed a likable, decent guy. My friends who were his friends (Mike and Brian) always had a good word when talking about him... in fact, I was kinda looking forward to meeting him because they mentioned him often. However brief, I'm glad I did. You won't be forgotten, man.

I will never forget the first concert I went to in 1988! My older sister could not make it to the concert with me and you offered to take me so I wouldn't miss it. My love for music kept on growing since the day I met you. I will always miss seeing you drive through our neighborhood like you did when I lived in Lincoln. You always knew how to make us laugh. Your kindness, your smile will forever be with so many of us. We miss you. Thanks for the music, the memories!

To Luis, Maria and Carla (my cousins):

My thoughts and prayers are and have always been with you, and especially now during such a tragic time. I know you will never be the same again, but hopefully with the love of family and friends you can get by.

Although I've moved away (it's been 9 yrs. now) when I did get to see Louie (& Carla) mostly at Tia Es's house, what I remember most was that we all would be laughing, laughing.

I remember the song we used to sing to you when we were younger "Louie, Louie, Louie, Louieeeeee, Louie, Louie, Louie, Louooowwwww"....you thought Diana, Joey and I were crazy and laughed your butt off at us when we sang that! (Carla may remember, but she may have been too young to recall).

Anyway, what I remember most, is how you made us feel....HAPPY!! You always laughed at our jokes and we laughed at yours, I don't think there was a time when we did see you that you were in a bad mood or unhappy! You made us laugh so much!

My memories will never fade. I will think of you today, tomorrow and always.

Love you, one of the twins......Julie (Roque) Maurer

My dear sweet Godchild Louie,

I was the one who held you in church as a baby for your baptism and so unbeleivably sad, I too was the one who walked down with you during your final visit to church. You were a sweet adorable child and you turned into a wonderful human being. I wish we could all wake up and find that this just be a horrible dream, but I know it's not possible. Louie,I will always keep you in my heart and prayers, please keep me too in yours. I was with your mom and dad that Friday and no parents should ever have to suffer that kind of pain and suffering. I promise to try and do what I can to help them through this difficult time. You were loved and you will be missed by your family and friends, and you had many. One thing for sure, you will never, ever be forgotten. I love you.

Dear Louie,

Been 14 years since I last saw you back in our days at NEIT. The memories I have, though short but so sweet, will live in my heart forever. I've wondered over the years what path you'd chosen. I remember our talks about children and what names we liked - yours was Bret Sena (with ONLY 1 "T" - I never forgot that!). May you rest in peace and know that a part of you will always be in my heart.

Love, Lori

To Mr. and Mrs. Alves, Carla & Skyla - may you always have peace in your hearts and know that no matter what, he will always be by your side. He was loved by so many and a gift to all of us who were blessed to have known him.

Lou Dog,

What can I say? I knew you for 13 years and you were family to me. I met you when we worked together at MCR, and the ridiculous crap we went through together turned into stories we told that nobody really believed. We must have spent 60 hours a week together for 3 or 4 years. From those days I have a lot of great memories like that company trip to Vermont where the corporate weirdness wouldn't stop and we partied until 9AM. And who could forget almost getting thrown out of the Anvil for STANDING in the middle of the dance floor? All this while the little dude in the booth pretended to play guitar and lip-synch every song.

After I quit and came back to work with you, how many Fridays in a row did we literally race to my apartment to hang out and party and pace the floor? 100? And by that time you started the whole rap thing and tortured me with it at full volume any time we cruised anywhere in your car. Beyond just the rap you introduced me to a lot of music I thought I was above listening to.

Lately we didn't hang out as often but we still had lots of fun. Like the night I came and checked out your new house which you were so rightfully proud of, and we went out for Carne Alentejana and then hit every "dancing" establishment in a 20 mile radius. Then the excursion for Indian food and stopping to do Karaoke on the way to the car.

I'll always remember your Lou-isms in a lot of cases like "YES! YOU ARE CORRECT, SIR," "Don't even go there," "cacker(?)," "Forgetaboutit" and lots more. Then when you thought someone was stupid or irritating you would break out that goofy smile that said it all. All those Lou expressions had a translation and I knew them all.

I could probably fill a book with all the great times we had, all the laughs, all the partying. I kind of feel like I've been robbed, but Carla said you wouldn't want anyone thinking like that and I'm sure she's right. Rest in peace my brother.

The measure of a man’s life is in the void he leaves in passing. The void left by Louis is immeasurable.

If it wasn’t the volume of his music reverberating through the cubicle walls it was his boisterous voice cracking a joke with laughter. Although it was often irritating to hear that Yankee pride or his opinions on who was a better guitar player, it was always something you expected and guiltily enjoyed.

The silence is deafening without his exuberant spirit to add color to any dull day. Of the many things that I am left with by having known Louis Alves, a few include a deep appreciation of music and his friendship.
