Galvin “Mann” Gabriel, Jr., age 74, passed away on Friday, March 28, 2025, at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton, MA. He was a native of New Orleans, LA, and a resident of Canton, MA. “Mann”, as he was affectionately known to family and friends, was a graduate of Lincoln High School. He served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After being honorably discharged, Galvin earned his first-class welding certificate from Avondale Shipyard and worked at various shipyards. He later gained employment as a construction worker, spending a great part of his career working in the NE Boston and Connecticut areas. He loved music, movies, bikes, motorcycles, auto racing, hamburgers, chocolate, and quiet peaceful locations. Loving father of Marquis Galvin Gabriel and C. Azure Gabriel, from his first marriage to Min. Martha Ann Jett-Gabriel; Dana Gabriel and Galvin “Mano” Gabriel III, from his second marriage to Mary W. Son of the late Galvin Gabriel, Sr. and Rosemary Shirley Goins Gabriel. Beloved brother of Merika Green, Arceneaux Gabriel, and the late Lateaud Gabriel and Sashara Gabriel. Nephew of Bernadette Washington. Godfather of Judy Favorite, Harry Gaines III, and Natasha Moore. Brother-in-law of the late Erroll Green. Galvin is also survived by his lifelong best friend James Tillman, 7 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Davis Mortuary Service, 6820 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, LA on Friday, May 2, 2025, at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time.
