George Gray, Jr., age 95, entered peacefully into eternal rest at his residence on Wednesday, November 5, 2025. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Harvey, LA. George received his GED and was a licensed barber. He was a retired head custodian with the Jefferson Parish Public School System, and a former truck driver with Swift Trucking Company. George was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. Beloved husband of the late Delores Wilson Gray. Devoted father of Gwendolyn G. Forges, Georgia W. Gray Freeman, and the late Dorothy Gray. Loving grandfather of Ron Gray, Jerard Watkins, Mylon Johnson, Tinslay Johnson, and Gabrielle Forges. Son of the late George E. Gray, Sr. and Velma R. Gray. Brother of the late Enola Struggs and Thelma Johnson. Father-in-law of Oran Forges and Lionel Freeman; also survived by 11 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Evening Star Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration at Evening Satr Baptist Church, 817 Grefer Avenue, Harvey, LA on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Keith Stewman, officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the church.
