Lansing
Born May 25, 1925 in Bad Axe, MI, the son of the late Linus and Edith (Smith) Lorenz, passed away on Monday, July 10, 2017 at age 92. Bob graduated from U of D High School and earned his Bachelors Degree from Michigan State College. As a Petroleum Geologist, he worked for the Michigan Dept. of Natural Resources. Bob later was a Partner in the Bermax Oil Company. Before retiring he served as a Petroleum Geologist Consultant. Bob served in the U.S. Army-Air Corp and was in the China-Burma-India Theatre during WWII. Bob was a member of St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus Council #10907 and the St. Michaels Club.
Bob is preceded in death by his 2 great grandchildren: Pauline Grace Lorenz and James Albert Baird III and a sister in law, Sharon Lorenz.
Surviving is his wife Maxine, of 67 years, 10 children: Robert (Susan), John (Nanette), James (Monica), Mary Lorenz, Thomas, Jeanette (Dan) David, Suzanne (James) Baird, Joseph (Tracy), William (Laura) and Edward (Jennifer), 35 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. Brothers James S Lorenz and Thomas B (Elaine) Lorenz. Sister Jean William Rodgers.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, July 13, 2017 at 11:00AM at St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church, 2620 Turner St, Lansing, with Rev. Fr. John Fain presiding. Rite of committal will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday 2-4 & 6-8PM at the Palmer Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Homes, Lansing Chapel where the Rosary will be prayed at 7:00PM. Visitation continues Thursday at the church at 10:00AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the St. Therese-St. Vincent DePaul Society. Condolences can be made at www.palmerbush.com.

My prayers are with you, the family of Robert.. even though I never met him, I did go to school with his son.. they say the son emulates the father, and if that is the case, he was a good man.. may God give you all peace in this time of trial and know Robert has gone to a much better place.
