Rachel Dell Templeton Bielli

Rachel Bielli Obituary

BOOTHBAY HARBOR -- Rachel Dell Templeton Bielli, 83, of Boothbay Harbor, formerly of Middlebury, Vt., died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2006, at St. Andrews Village in Boothbay Harbor.

Rachel married Ronald R. Bielli of Barre, Vt., in 1943 and worked to support Ronald through graduate school. Three daughters were born to them. In 1956, they moved the family to Middlebury, where Ronald taught at the college until his retirement 28 years later. Rachel was predeceased by her husband on Aug. 18, 2003.

Rachel is survived by her three daughters, Alison K. Bielli Nichols of Augusta, Adele L. Bielli Savastano of East Boothbay, and Andrea E. Bielli Templeton of Round Pond; two grandchildren, Rachel Emily Nichols of Los Angeles, and Hunter James Nichols of Portsmouth, N.H.

Arrangements are entrusted to Simmons, Harrington & Hall Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Boothbay. Throughout her life, Rachel preferred a living plant to a cut-flower arrangement as cut flowers, inevitably, died. In lieu of flowers, please plant a tree, a shrub or a perennial at your local arboretum, at a village green or park, or even in your own yard. Enjoy its beauty and think of her.

At Rachel's request, there will be no viewing hours and no funeral service. Instead, the ashes of Rachel and Ronald, together, will soon be scattered in Vermont, at the places they held dear.

In Andrea's words:

You're a memory to be forever told,

You'll last and last, you're made of gold.
