Frances Ritter Obituary

Frances E. Ritter
Frances E. Ritter, 82, of Allentown, died Monday at Country Meadows, Wescosville. She was the widow of Thomas M. Ritter, who died in 2001. They were married for 52 years at the time of his death. Born in Seipstown, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence A. and Esther M. (Schellhamer) Herber. She was co-owner with her husband the former Ritters Market in Kuhnsville for 45 years. She previously worked at Liberty Bank and Trust and was an assistant manager for Lyons Finance. She was a member of Ziegels United Church of Christ, Weisenberg Township, and was the first president of The Purple Petunias Red Hat Society at Country Meadows. She enjoyed playing bridge for over 35 years and was an longtime Phillies and Eagles fan. Survivors: A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she is survived by sons, Thomas M. L. Ritter and his wife, Colleen, and Dean L. Ritter and his wife, Linda; and grandchildren, Kathy, Amy, Michael, Janel, Tiffany, and Ryan. Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 10, Trexler Funeral Home, 1625 Highland Street, Allentown. A calling hour will begin at 9:30 a.m.. Interment will be in Ziegels Cemetery.
