Evelyn E. (Buzzard) Jennings, 94, of Bushkill Twp., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at Moravian Hall Square, of Nazareth. She was the loving wife of the late Oliver John Jennings, for 58 years, until his passing on July 8, 2005. Evelyn was born on January 24, 1927 in Washington Township, PA. She was the daughter of the late George and Anna (Trayes) Buzzard. Evelyn was a 1945 graduate of Bangor High School. She lived a long happy fulfilling life that truly embodied the American dream. Evelyn and her husband were dairy farmers in Ackermanville for 28 years. In 1973, they took a leap of faith and risked everything they had to purchase 9 school buses to start their family business, Jennings Transportation. Jennings Transportation is now in its third generation serving Nazareth and the Greater Lehigh Valley, operated by her daughters and grandson. Evelyn was a member of Ackermanville United Methodist Church, of Bangor. She was a talented artist and seamstress. She loved golfing and fishing with her husband at their cabin at Lake Wallenpaupack, where many great family vacations were spent. She was an avid Penn State and Phillies fan, and also enjoyed watching the Army-Navy football games. Most importantly, Evelyn cherished her family. She is deeply missed by daughters, Kathy Troxell and her husband Timothy, of Nazareth, Janet Ochs and her companion Lewis Baldwin, of Bushkill Twp.; three grandchildren, Meghan, Jonathan and his wife Nina, and Maryanna; three great-grandchildren, Oliver, Rosie and Lucy. She was pre-deceased by brothers, John and Richard Buzzard; sisters, Joyce Strunk and infant June Buzzard; son-in-law, Thomas R. Ochs. A Memorial Service will be held and announced on a later date due to the pandemic restrictions. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Joseph F. Reichel Funeral Home Inc., of Nazareth.
