Susan Virts Obituary
Susan recently retired from Silver Oak Elementary after 33 years in elementary education. Her love of children and the mutual reward of seeing "the light bulb go on" will be her legacy.
A memorial service for immediate family will be held in Scotts Valley. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her name to Lucille Packard Foundation for Children's Health would be appreciated. Arrangements by Byrgan & Company of Los Gatos.

Thank you for your kind words. My sister Sue Virts, was a devoted teacher. She was always eager to share stories from school. She spoke fondly of the many teachers and administrators she worked with. To hear others speak of her in the same way is comforting. However, it was the children that really made a difference in her life. Sue truly left her heart behind when she retired. My hope is that all children have at least one teacher that makes a difference like my sister did.

Sue was a vibrant person and a teacher of excellence. I was her principal at Evergreen School in the early 90's and was a friend during her cancer at that time. She was a ray of light for her friends and all of the children she touched in her career. My sympathy is extended to her family.

To the family of Sue Virts,
Debbie Markus, a church member, just told me of Sue's passing. I remember her as a vibrant, blond, intelligent, cheerful teacher who was able to work with children and adults so beautifully. I was Principal of Montgomery Elementary School for ten years. Our paths crossed often. I am saddened to learn of her passing. My heart goes out to her family in this time of great loss.
