Ben, I think about you often. You were so amazing, you had a major impact on the person I am today. You had such a sweet heart, and even though you were quiet most days, you always said Hi when I saw you in the halls. I miss you dearly, and I know you are with God and at peace. I’ll never forget you.

Ben, you were always loved by the Lakewood lunch ladies. We loved when you would sing for us ( the 911 song) when you came through the cafeteria and when you would take the time to stop by to give us a hug before you had to go to middle school. Lakewood will never be the same....WE will never be the same....we love you and will miss you. Rest in PEACE sweet boy.

Ben is and always will be the only "Ben" in my book. We have a lot of memories and they will be forever stored in my heart and mind. I will always cherish all of the visits to Lakewood after he moved on to other schools. I will cherish every time we bumped in to each other at Walmart and I got to give the kids a hug. I will sadly be forever scarred at the immense loss of Ben's life. His legacy will live on forever - especially at Lakewood.

I am a ninth grader at Coastal Leadership Academy. Although I did not have any classes with Ben and did not know him very well, he brought a positive attitude to his environment. When I saw him, he was always around the teachers and was smiling. I've heard from many people that he was such a smart kid, like genius smart. I really wish I would have gotten to know Ben. My prayers are with his family.

Ben. Whenever I heard that name I always thought of him. The thing I will miss most is his grin - that "I am not going to smile, but I can't help it" grin. We could not compliment him without that look on his face. Do you remember him not being in the car rider line because he would not leave my room? Some days I took his backpack and pushed him out the door all the way outside to find his dad or grandfather had pulled over. Ben has left me so many good memories. I cherish those times with him.
Know that your loss is also a loss for everyone at Lakewood Elementary. He was loved by every adult that met him.
My wish for you is to be able to find peace within your hearts in the near future. God bless each and everyone of you.
