Charles Froehlich Jr.

AGE: 83 • Charleston, S.C.

Charles Froehlich Jr., 83, passed on Monday, Jan. 2, 2012. He was residing at Ashley River Plantation Assisted Living in Charleston, S.C. His son, Kenneth, relocated him there to care for him. He was born in Buffalo, N.Y. and served in the U.S. Army at Fort Monmouth. For 61 years thereafter, he resided in Freehold, N.J. working as a General Contractor and Builder. His community activities included president of the Rotary, member of the Olive Branch Lodge No. 16 F. & A.M. He belonged to the American Legion, the Elks, and volunteer first aid squad. His pride in his work reflected in the Freehold area, including the Masonic Temple, VFW Hall, K of C Hall, First Baptist Church School, and the Hindu Temple in Colts Neck.

He is survived by five children, Karl, Kenneth, Kurt, Karen and Kevin; seven grandchildren, (one, Beau, recently deceased); and seven great-grandchildren.

He is being cremated at Palmetto Cremations, Charleston, S.C. He will be greatly missed.
