Not sure what to say?

Albert has been a tremendous influence on my life. I haven't seen him in a few years. After I learned of his death, I waited a couple of weeks to say what I have to say.

Albert was a really cool guy. He was tough, and had a heart 16-times as big. "Tough and cool." I hope folks have such good things to say of me, someday.

I'm a better man for knowing him.

Albert would show up at my house on his bike or in his Vette. He inspired me to get my first motorcycle and we spent many a day riding through the hill country. He was my best hunting companion, a true friend and surely one of a kind. I miss him so much. I will miss his yearly Christmas card. Rest well my friend. I will look you up when I get there.

Knew Al from OBars Guns. Bought or traded quite a few. Lots of police officers liked to hang out with Al. Al taught me my original concealed carry class and he taught all of my renewals since. He's a good guy and I'll miss him.

It was a delight to have known Albert, even if it was for a short time. I worked with Albert at NISD, and while driving, I would oftentimes see Albert booking it down the road. In converstation, found out he had graduated from Harlandale HS, so did I. Albert will be missed.

He will be remembered for his sense of humor, participation and toughtfullness bringing tacos to the regular monthly get togethers. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and close friends during this difficult time. I hope to see you again one day Albert.

“Be Thou a Smooth Way” is a setting of text from a collection of traditional prayers, hymns, blessings, and incantations passed down by word of mouth through many generations by the inhabitants of the remote regions of the Highlands of Scotland, gathered and translated in the late 19th century. Christianity is traced in this region back to the year 563.

Be thou a smooth way before me,
Be thou a guiding star above me,
Be thou a keen eye behind me
This day, this night, and forever.

I am weary and I forlorn.
Lead thou me to the land of thee angels;

If only thou O God of life, Be at peace with me,
Be my support, be to me as a star, Be to me as a helm,
From my lying down in peace, To my rising anew.
