ALBERT TOROSIAN

Albert was born to John and Mary Torosian on February 4, 1922. He attended Horace Mann Grammar School, and graduated from Fowler High School. After serving in the U.S. Air Force during World War II, he returned home and went to work for Garo Showcase, where he became a skilled cabinet maker. When his parents were no longer able to manage the family farm, he took over, making cabinets by day and farming in the late afternoons. He maintained the family for more than sixty years. Albert was a perfectionist in all things, and he took meticulous care of his farm. His cabinets, desks, and table were works of art. He was always willing to lend a hand, and he loved to teach along the way, whether the subject was wood working, farming, auto mechanics, or the stock market. He was a loving brother, uncle, and friend, and we will miss him. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the loving care that he received at the California Armenian Home. Albert was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Torosian. He is survived by his sister, Eleanor Merzoian; brother-in-law, Mitch Merzoian; nephew, Rick Merzoian and his wife Rita; niece, Carol Giovacchini and her husband Jim Giovacchini; and their children, Andrea Ramos, Anthony Giovacchini, and Leslie Giovacchini. A Graveside Service will be held at Belmont Memorial Park on Thursday, December 1, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The California Armenian Home, or to the donor's favorite charity.
