Alexander Joseph Cherp, 23, of Sarasota, Florida passed away suddenly on Sunday, February 5, 2017. Born in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Alex was a loving son, grandson and nephew. He was a car enthusiast, political junkie and avid historian. Alex was a loving and kind soul and was a great animal lover. His bright smile lit up a room as soon as he entered.
Alex is survived by his mother, Michelle Cherp; grandmother, Patricia Cherp and uncle, Chris Cherp.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 6:00 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19, 2017 at Mandeville Beer Garden, 428 N. Lemon Ave., Sarasota.
Memorial donations may be made to Take Stock in Children, Sarasota County, Inc. P.O. Box 48186, Sarasota, FL 34230 in Alex's memory.

So sorry for losing Alex .. only met him a few times when he came to our home to pick up our son David William Whelan.
David loved and spent alot of time with him .. now gutted after losing his good friend Alex .. such a damn shame .
Still see him standing in our garage presenting that beaming smile ... will remember him forever.

Dear Michelle - thoughts are with you and your family at this most difficult time. Alex must have been part of the "master" plan for he was taken way too early and other plans have been made for him. May your broken heart heal, the pain you are suffering subside and your memories keep you sane.

Michelle, Chis and Pat ; I am still lost for words but keep thinking of Ron and knowing that he has his fishing buddy with him now.and that if he were here he would have something strong and positive to say to me and us that would help ease the pain a little and make the day just a bit brighter. I will be in Orlando this weekend babysitting my little grandson as he, my daughter and son-in-law are all in a wedding and I am in charge of the little "ring bearer".
