Diane Cherp, age 81, of Henderson, MN formerly of Ivanhoe, MN passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at the Good Samaritan Society in Arlington, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be privately held. Burial will be at the Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery in Ivanhoe. Houseman Funeral Home-Birk Chapel is entrusted with the arrangements.
Diane Karen Cherp was born on March 4, 1942 in Lincoln County, Minnesota to Elmo and Clementine (Parulski) Janssen. She attended and graduated from Ivanhoe High School in 1960 and then attended McConell Airline School in Minneapolis, MN and worked for Braniff Airlines for a short time.
Diane was united in marriage to William Cherp on January 6, 1962 at the Basilica of St. Mary in Minneapolis, MN. They were blessed with four children: Peggy, Mike, Jane and Tom. They moved to Brookings, SD while Bill attended college and then settled in Henderson, MN where they raised their family. Over the years Diane worked as a store clerk for Red Owl Grocery Store in Henderson. She worked as a nurse's aid in Belle Plaine and then cleaned local businesses in LeSueur until her retirement in 2000.
Grateful for having shared Diane's life is her husband of 61 years, Bill Cherp of Henderson, MN; her four children: Peggy (Mitch) Rasmussen, Mike (Stacey) Cherp, Jane (Mike) Schwarz and Tom Cherp; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Elmo and Clem Janssen and one brother, Roger Janssen.
