Dixie and Family::
I worked with Gene and you for several years at the Health Department. Loved all of Gene's stories and his kindness and also getting to know you. I am so glad that you both got to retire and spend some great time together getting to do some things you had so looked forward to doing. My thoughts are with you and your family, Sincerely Jean Lawless.

Dixie and Family, I was saddened to learn of Genes passing. My thoughts and prayers go out to you in this time of sorrow. Gene was a great person and a very good friend. May God be with you and guide you through this.

Gene, I have known you since our days in College at SWT back in the 60's. You worked at Texas Education Agency and when you left to go to work at UT I got your auditor's position. Thank you for getting me my first job as I got out of the Army.
I stayed in touch with you for 50 years. I enjoyed our times together and will always remember the hunting stories that you told. I really enjoyed our lunches together after we retired. I am so sorry that we lost you. It was too early for you to leave us.
Thank you for your many years of service to our country in the Army. May God Bless you and keep you in His arms. Rest in Peace
