ARTHUR KAPETANSKY Obituary

ARTHUR KAPETANSKY Arthur Kapetansky, 69, of Henderson, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 28, 2017. Art was born in Los Angeles, to Seymour and Sarah (Dobrovitch) Kapetansky. They moved to Detroit, Mich. when Art was a toddler. He remained in the area until 2001 when he and his loving wife, Carleen, came to Las Vegas, followed by their their children over the next few years. Art lived life passionately, loving music, sports, politics and all-things family. He sang professionally for years, as well as in his synagogue in Detroit and in Henderson. We all knew him as the "Karaoke King" and he made a point to find a place to karaoke in every city he visited. He was also a skilled bowler (very proud of having seven 300 games!) and an extraordinary salesman, winning many awards over his career. It has been said, half his DNA was pure laughter, loving a good pun or joke and making people laugh, in the true essence of his father. A smile was always quick to his face and quickly shared. He dearly loved his three children and five grandchildren. He felt so blessed to be involved in all their lives. He is survived by his beloved wife, of 48 years, Carleen; children, Mark (Jacqueline), April (Jeffrey) Sudds and Michael (Rebecca); his adored mother, Sarah; sisters, Lois Martin, Rita, and Col. Shirley J. Lancaster (ret.); grandchildren, Karter, Lincoln, Zander, Zealyn and Zavier; his sisters-in-law, Lynne Kaleita, Jo Ann Kaleita and Susan Kaleita; nephew, Andrew; niece, Jessica; and many other loving family members and lifelong friends. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, July 2, at King David Memorial Chapel, 2697 E. Eldorado Lane, Las Vegas. In lieu of flowers, donations in Arthur's memory can be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, Chabad of Green Valley/Henderson or the charity of your choice.

Just thinking about Art & how we had a great time bowling together, and sometimes staying at the bowling center to play a couple games of cards...great fun. And oh my, the delicious dinners at your house, & more card games...great memories, great fun. Big guy, you are truly missed.

Please accept my deepest sympathy for your loss. I will miss him calling our office almost every week, and as soon as I pick up the phone, he always say " hi, Roni. Guess who this is? This is your favorite client." To which I always reply "Oh, it's you again! Art, stop harassing me! You are now my new stalker!" And then both of us laugh & laugh!............... I definitely will miss you, Art.

Our deepest thoughts are with the family. Art is a 'great friend'. He had so many friends that he loved and joked with. His personality is enlightening and entertaining and sincere. I'm so proud that he stood up at our wedding. We've been friends since 1974 and he will be missed deeply.
