BARBARA WEINER Obituary

WEINER, Barbara J. Of Framingham passed away on February 20, 2016 at age 75. Barbara was everything to her "fella" Stephen Weiner, having been married to him for almost 55 amazing years. A proud, adoring and incredible mother to her children Wendy, Robert and his wife Mara, Daniel and his wife Margo Moss; and the most cool, awesome Nana to Ben, Ari and Julien, who will all remember her with great love, respect and admiration. She is survived by two younger brothers, Billy Levy and his wife Margie and Richard Levy, her brother in law, Norman Weiner, nephew, Andrew Levy and his wife Liz Wilson and niece, Jill Levy. Born February 4, 1941 in Jersey City, New Jersey, Barbara moved to New England in 1958 to attend Brandeis, where she met Steve. They married in June of 1961 and moved to Framingham in April of 1963. Barbara was an Interior Designer and it was her passion to help so many turn their house into a comfortable home filled with color, beauty and love. It was her way of touching people and enhancing their lives.

In addition to her love of all things family, Barbara enjoyed friendships with so many dear people. She loved to entertain, cook, bake, knit, read, dance, watch sports and became a licensed pilot. Barbara was a true legend at Camp Echo Lark in Poyntelle, PA, where campers and her peers held her in the highest esteem. Beautiful, gutsy and brave, Barbara put up the toughest fight of her life battling lung cancer, never losing her dignity and grace. Services at Temple Beth Am, 300 Pleasant Street, Framingham on Tuesday February 23, 2016 at 2 PM. Burial at the Framingham-Natick Jewish Cemetery in Natick, to be followed by a reception and Memorial Receiving of well-wishers back at Temple Beth Am, including a Minyan Service at 7:30. The family will observe Shiva on Wednesday from 1-5 and 7-9 and on Thursday from 12-4 at the family home. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Lung Cancer Research Foundation: https://secure.lungcancerresearchfoundation.org/donate

Barbara, as one of your many nurses, I will miss your sense of humor, laugh and the obvious love you and Steve shared. I have kept the message you left for me on Christmas knowing this day would come and wanted to be able to hear your voice again.
