Clayton, North Carolina - Barbara Lamm Wicker, departed this life on Sunday, October 10, 2021 after a long battle with cancer.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mary Lammm of Bailey; and a sister, Jeannette Bryant of Sims.
Left to cherish her memory are husband, Jerry Wicker; a sister, Bonnie Mumford and husband, Barney of Garner; niece, Susan Millner and husband, Don of Garner; nephew, Gary Bryant and wife, Diane of Sims; great niece, Brianna and great nephew, Chason.
Barbara was a graduate of Bailey High School and started her career with the Nash County Health Department. She retired in 1999 with more than 30 years of service from the NC state Bureau of Investigations as Record Division Supervisor and received the Long Leaf Pine award.
She loved her cats and has given homes to many rescues and strays over the years. Her favorite flower was sunflowers. Both displayed on her grave stone.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at 11:00am at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
A heartfelt thank you for support and care goes to husband Jerry Wicker, who has stood by her side through her courageous battle and her family, friends, neighbors, and the UNC Cancer Center of Garner.
For this is a journey that we all must take alone and it is all part of the master's plan. Rest in peace "Sister of mine" until we meet again. Much Love – Bonnie
