Galva - Barry Douglas Millender, 53, of Galva, IL, died on Friday, October 6, 2023, at St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Barry was born on June 10, 1970 in Dallas, TX, the son of Sherman Douglas and Linda Sue (Statum) Millender. Barry married Heidi Grogg on August 7, 2015.
Barry graduated from Plano Senior High and earned his Bachelor's degree from Texas Tech University. He spent his career working in the restaurant industry. He started his career in Old Chicago, and eventually owned his own restaurant. Barry was a Methodist Church member and also belonged to the Texas Tech Sigma Ki Fraternity. Barry loved his time at Cheley Colorado Camp, and was a long-time volunteer at Cheley Children's Hospital Burn Camp where he met his wife. Barry was an avid golfer, enjoyed being outdoors, and loved his dogs.
He is survived by his wife, Heidi Millender of Galva, IL; parents, Sherman and Linda Millender of Plano, TX; and brother, Brett Millender of Galva, IL.
Cremation was provided by Lincoln Land Cremation Society.
