Becky Alderson Obituary

Rebecca Jean ["Becky"] Alderson, age 86, passed away on November 2, 2010. Daughter of Rev. Ernest and Julia Volkenant.
Preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, R. Charles Alderson ["Chuck"], and her brother, Daniel Volkenant. Survived by her son, Roger, and her daughter, Pamela Stancil, along with Becky's sister Barbara Summers, sister-in-law, Velora Volkenant, and her in-laws Bill and Elaine Wardle. Also survived by grandchildren Emily, Phillip, Steven and Elissa Stancil and her adored great-grandson, Chase Stancil, together with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Becky and Chuck retired from their careers in Minnesota to spend nearly two decades working at Bob Jones University in Greenville, S.C. Becky died at the home of her daughter where she had lived for the last 4 years.
Services will be held Friday, November 5, 2010, at 2:30 p.m. at The Mackey Mortuary, 311 Century Drive, with the Rev. Drew Conley of Hampton Park Baptist Church officiating.
Visitation will be Friday from 1:00 until 2:30 p.m. at the mortuary.

I so enjoyed getting to know Becky better through the University Park Garden Club. She was very efficient as an officer. Always quiet spoken and sweet. My sympathy to the family that she loved so dearly. She is with the Lord and her beloved Chuck.
